The Cottages at Whitehorse Meadows Farm

Whitehorse Meadows Farm is a certified organic blueberry farm located approximately 6 miles west of Darrington on Highway 530. The cottages are adjacent to the main farm area and both are accessed from the highway.
The Meadow Cottage is newly rebuilt on 1 acre of lawns and lovely trees, with a full kitchen, back patio facing Mt. Whitehorse, 3 bedrooms, and full amenities. The Farm Cottage is at the farm entrance. Built in 1920 it is the original farmhouse of the dairy farm that previously graced our fields. It has been renovated with a full kitchen, 2 bedrooms, and covered porches front and back. Both houses have ample information and maps of local hiking, kayaking, mountain biking and biking trails, and are within walking distance of a great little coffee stand, the Stillaguamish River and the Centennial Biking/Walking Trail. A Shepard's Retreat

Located 5 miles west of the Town of Darrington, this Airbnb is a working sheep farm with jaw-dropping views of Whitehorse Mountain. A Shepard's Retreat is a member of the Washington Association of Stockdog Handlers and occasionally hosts herding trials. Whitehorse Meadows organic blueberry farm offers U-pick berries in late summer. The farm house sleeps 8 and has a fully equipped kitchen.

Howard Miller Steelhead Park

Howard Miller was born in Skagit County, and in his adult years, served as a Skagit County Commissioner for 16 years. In 1966, Howard Miller was responsible for the first purchase of land (15 acres) that included 39 campsites; complete with electrical hook ups for RV’s, tent sites, a picnic shelter, and a restroom. On December 2,1982 the park officially dedicated Howard Miller Steelhead Park. [HMSP]. The land was obtained from Burlington Northern Railroad, Seattle City Light, and private sources. Buck Creek Campground

This campground offers a more primitive, quiet camping experience. Situated along Buck Creek in old growth forest, were every campsite can hear the rushing water. Activities in the area include fishing, hiking, and bicycle riding. This campground is mostly shaded by large old Douglas Fir trees. Relatively private sites and creek front sites are available. Popular with those seeking a quiet getaway an ideal base camp to access many area trails.

Suiattle Guard Station
Reservations: Plans are underway to reopen the Suiattle Guard Station in 2020. Contact the Darrington Ranger Station (360)436-1155 for more information. The Suiattle River and surrounding old growth forest and mountain peaks provide a serene backdrop to the Suiattle Guard Station. The charming log cabin sits on a gently sloping lawn at the edge of the forest and offers visitors a tranquil, remote spot to spend the night.

Clear Creek Campground

Clear Creek campground is located near the Sauk River along the Mountain Loop Highway. Notable in the area are the stately old fir trees. The under growth is fairly sparse offering a more open communal camping experience.

Squire Creek Campground

Just outside the Town of Darrington, enjoy nature at its finest! Squire Creek offers RV and tent camping among the beautiful moss-laden trees of an old growth forest. The park is a perfect staging area for adventures into the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, hiking to the base of Whitehorse Mountain, or participating in the Bluegrass Festival in Darrington. Access to the Sauk River is just five-minutes away at Backman Park. Two large picnic shelters are located near the crystal clear waters of Squire Creek.

Darrington is surrounded by five rivers: the Suiattle River to the northeast, the Sauk River to the east, the White Chuck River to the south east, the Boulder River to the southwest, and the North Fork Stillaguamish to the west.
